The good old times! :)

You have memories to look back today".

Midst the cluster of Facebook notifications, her eyes stopped at this particular notification.

"No use checking it out, it must be some stupid, illogical post I updated years back. I wonder how silly people are when we first join Facebook. Ah, ya, well! I was no exception". She tried overlooking that notification and hit the newsfeed. But, then heart has its own way of clinging to the memories, no matter how stupid it might seem. She clicked back at the notification window.

"Ummm, okay! There's no harm looking at memories". She murmured with curiosity.

And, there she was, 4 years back, smiling like an idiot with her best friend. The memories of their Manali trip came rushing to her. How she wished she could go back in time and replay those memories. She kept reading the funny, hilarious comments that photograph was bestowed with. Tears trickled down her wet eyes and, she realised that she had been looking at the laptop screen for quite a long time.

"Damn! Its been ages. I haven't talked to her. I need to call now". The emotions overflowed in her heart as she dialled her best buddy's number. Sometimes, we get so busy midst the chaos of our lives, that we forget those friendships who once were our sole reason to live. Friendships we could die for.

"The number you're calling is busy on another call". The computerised voice from the other side disappointed her. She kept trying until she was disturbed by a call on the landline.

"Who on earth is calling right now!" She was annoyed with this sudden disruption.

"Hello, Who is this"? She asked annoyed.

"Where have you been, idiot? I have had been calling you from past few minutes". She was happily surprised on hearing this familiar friendly voice. Ofcourse, how could she not recognise her best friend's voice.

"Oh my God! Oh my God! You won't believe me, I was trying your call right now, right away". She almost screamed with excitement.

"What??? Really? What a beautiful coincidence. You know, I saw our memories on . . "

"On Facebook?? Wow! Now this is freaking awesome. What timing, girl!" She cut short her sentence midway. Life has a cute way of bringing people back.

"This is epic, really!!" They shouted in unison.

And the phone call kept going, memories were replayed, recollected. They had so much to talk, so much to catch up, so much to share. The profound conversstion can never find its end when best friends talk and that too after years.

Busy? It is okay! We all are. But, take out time and call your long lost friend, once in a while. Revive your good old days, share old memories and make new ones. It would be worth it. Trust me! :)

A dream died young!

"Look at her marksheet, just 50% in Mathematics". Her father retorted.

"And, not to forget her Science marks, 55%.She is such a disappointment." Her mother fumed too.

"But, Dad, Didn't you notice my English marks? I have had got 92%, the highest in all the sections". The 9th grade girl said fearfully yet, there was hope in her voice.

"Nobody sees your literature marks. It is Mathematics and Science that make careers". Her father broke the hope she was clinging to.

"Stop wasting your time scribbling your good for nothing thoughts and pay attention on numericals and equations". Even her mother failed to understand her.

And, a dream died young that day. She was engineered to opt something she could never really understand, leave alone loving.

She was allowed to be a bad engineer or a bad doctor but, not a great writer!
